Littleton, CO Lattice Top Cedar Fence

This cedar fence is a custom lattice top with top cap and trim. It has steel “post master” posts with keyhole scrolled gates. The pickets are all 5.5″ wide and as always premium western red cedar. The total length of the fencing on this project was approximately 300 feet, with half standard privacy and half custom.

The lattice is sandwiched between 2×4’s and 1×4 trim boards. This cedar lattice is 7/8″ thick giving it the strength it needs to last as long as the rest of the fence. To cover the steel posts from view we used pickets and 1×4 trim boards to frame in each section and give the fence that finished look. The steel posts have a higher windload rating than wood posts and are guaranteed not to rot. While the initial cost is higher for steel posts, the longevity of the fence will pay for itself year after year.

When installing a fence of this size and detail, the quality of materials and experience of the contractor you hire will make all the difference as far as look and the life of your fence. To keep your new fence looking great we can add a clear stain to bring out the natural colors of the cedar and allow the water from rain, snow and sprinklers to bead off without turning the fence gray.

Fences naturally frame in your yard and can help in other landscaping decisions. This fence was installed before the rest of the landscaping was complete so that everything would tie in nicely.
